Kia appears poised to launch a compelling, stylish, and affordable challenger to the Tesla Model 3 with the upcoming EV4 compact sedan. Based on the brand's proven electric vehicle (EV) technology and building on the award-winning success of models like the Kia EV9, the EV4 promises to bring sophisticated design and potential long-range capability to a more accessible price point, potentially starting under $40,000. The production version of the Kia EV4, first revealed as a concept a year ago, remains strikingly true to its original vision. It features a dramatic fastback profile that creates a sleek, sporty silhouette. A key design element is the black trim around the C-pillar (the roof support behind the rear passenger door) and rear window, which visually separates the roof from the body, giving the car a distinctive, modern appearance.
