* Solid Steel Gates x 2, Vintage/Antique, Latch & Drop Bolt on both These old gates are simple, solid and in good condition. They have only superficial rust - nothing serious - and both have a great patina with plenty of paint intact (one being a deeper green than the other). The gates are the same size and are set up identically. The hinge, latches and drop bolts are on the same side and at the latches are the same heights. The 2 diagonal straps on each are also in the same positions. At first they look identical but there are some variations; - The pickets/ballustrades are 5/8" square on the pale green gate but are 1" x 1/2" on the other (set so the thin edge is the face). - The hinge on the pale green gate is more decorative (see photos). - The drop bolt on the pale green gate is shorter than the other (by a couple of centimetres) and it's top bracket is also a couple of centimetres lower (see photos). Both are 6'1/2" (184cm) long x 2'9" (which is 2/3/4', 33" or about 84cm) high. The frame/rails are 1" x 1/2". The decorative straps are 1" flat. The latches are set at around 2ft (about 61cm). It seems likely that the deeper green gate is a copy of the pale green one, but is of similar age. Whilst not exactly identical these solid old gates would make excellent garden or yard gates.
