Are you a reliable, hard working Yard Hand who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in? GKR Transport is looking for a hands on team players to support our busy depot operations in Welshpool. This is a physically demanding role that involves hands on manual labour, a strong focus on safety, and a solid understanding of freight handling. You'll be working in a fast paced, high volume environment. Expect long shifts, we often work over 12 hours to ensure all linehaul trucks are fully loaded and on the road. These are permanent casual roles and the days are: Monday - 5.00am - Finish Tuesday - 7.00 - Finish Thursday - 7.00am - Finish Friday - 5.00am - Finish What You’ll Be Doing: As a Yard Hand at GKR Transport, your role will be hands on and varied, including: General labouring tasks around the yard and depot Opening and shutting tautliner trailers and removing and installing truck gates Strapping and restraining freight safely and efficiently Restacking pallets and maintaining load integrity Cleaning up the yard, including sweeping, rubbish removal, and general maintenance Ensuring the yard is clean, organised, and hazard free at all times Supporting drivers and operations staff as required You’ll Need To Have: Experience in transport/logistics or yard work Strong knowledge of freight handling (tautliners, straps, pallets, gates, curtains) Forklift licence an advantage but not required.
