GKC Group is a leading Civil Construction company located in Western Sydney, servicing Greater Sydney, Northern and Eastern Beaches and coastal areas within 80kms of Sydney CBD. Our company offers services to leading developers and builders in the Australian construction and infrastructure industries. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Plant and Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team based in Wetherill Park with greater Sydney metro-based work sites. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and servicing of plant and vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained and in optimal working condition. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Australian recognised Mechanical Trade certificate (Mobile Plant Desirable) Relevant trade qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic White Card 5+ years’ hands-on experience in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a commercial or fleet environment Ability to work independently and handle field breakdowns Strong communication and time management skills A focus on safety and quality workmanship Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicle systems and components Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment In-depth machinery knowledge, mechanically and electrically Be dedicated and reliable; we are an essential services industry YOUR ROLE Perform routine servicing and inspections on heavy vehicles such as machinery, trucks, trailers, vehicles and other commercial equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across a range of heavy vehicle systems Rebuild and overhaul components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials Maintain detailed records of work carried out and parts used Conduct servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered machinery Work closely with the team to ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed to the highest standard Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures Ensuring compliance with all safety and site standards WHAT WE OFFER Competitive above award hourly rate Company vehicle and fuel card Uniform and PPE supplied Overtime penalties for all work above standard Monday – Friday 38-hour work week APPLY NOW
