About the role This is a great opportunity to work in a committed Christian team that has a strong sense of community, family, education and love. The Early childhood teacher (ECT) at SmartPlay Marsden Park will be in charge to plan, develop and deliver a quality Kindy program that can clearly demonstrate your understanding and in depth knowledge of a diverse educational program based on the EYLF frameworks, Hegarty and NQS. This part time (3 days a week, 0.6FTE) maternity leave cover position is expected to start April 2025 and last for 12 months. Requirements About you You hold an approved early childhood teaching qualification through ACECQA Working with Children Check Child Protection Training and understanding of Regulations and Requirements Current CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training You’re independently motivated Active, positive and effective communication skills with children, parents and team members You have a servant heart and vibrant Christian faith. You will be highly organised with strong project management skills. You will be highly empathetic and able to consider the needs of families while progressing the delivery of service in a timely manner You’ll thrive when working collaboratively and when given the opportunity to show initiative. You will have a great attention to detail. Contribute to the development and implementation of the school objectives and school planning. Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of an orderly learning environment. Plan, prepare and deliver quality and effective teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers; and relevant syllabi, curriculum policies, work programs and educational trends. Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge of relevant curriculum programs as required by the NESA. Support students through interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices. Provide for the physical, social, cultural and emotional wellbeing and physical safety of students and enhance their overall development towards effective citizenship and responsible adulthood through participation in timetabled, non-timetabled and planned extracurricular activities. Assess students (diagnostic, formative and summative) for developmental, feedback and reporting purposes. Maintain student records and samples of work and report on student performance to students, parents, the department and other stakeholders. Participate in the collaborative development and evaluation of curriculum (the sum total of all learning experiences) and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the learning/teaching program.
