About The Role We are looking for a motivated and experienced GPH-qualified Deckhand to join our team at Darwin Harbour Cruises. This is a casual position, commencing ASAP. Our Deckhands are customer-facing, involved in activities ranging from maintaining and operating the vessel, right through to supporting with hospitality-related tasks to ensure high quality customer service and experiences to all guests. Our Deckhands work on a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, with a large proportion of shifts rostered across afternoons, evenings and weekends. We are currently operating 7 days a week, though we will drop a cruising day each month from October until December, when we close for the season. Working in close collaboration with both marine and hospitality teams, responsibilities include: Collaborate with the Master and crew to prepare the vessel for cruises, managing berthing, controlling mooring lines, and performing deck rounds while addressing engineering and maintenance needs. Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure guest safety by assisting with mobility, following safety procedures from the vessel's Safety Management System (SMS), and conducting lookout duties. Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping, assist with food and beverage service, and manage guest requests by communicating specific needs with the office team. Maintain logbooks, report safety or environmental concerns to the Vessel Master, manage guest complaints with the Cruise Director, and liaise with office managers on cruise-related matters. Requirements About You The ideal candidate will be passionate about what they do, the service they deliver, and be willing to go above and beyond for our guests, determined to create amazing experiences and shape lasting memories. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive "can-do" attitude and have the flexibility to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Qualifications Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Certificate of Competency - General Purpose Hand (GPH) (essential). Coxswain/Master/MED/Radio Operator skills (highly regarded). Responsible Service of Alcohol (essential, or willing to obtain upon commencement). Food Safety Handling certificate (essential, or willing to obtain upon commencement). Provide First Aid & CPR (essential, or willing to obtain upon commencement). About You Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Interest and/or experience in supporting hospitality-related tasks. Basic marine/vessel knowledge and physical fitness (reliable in-water/swimming skills). A well-presented appearance. Basic computer literacy with sound cash handling and stock rotation. Reliable, self-motivated, proactive, and able to demonstrate strong crowd management & public speaking abilities. Strong team ethic with cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of others. Have the necessary working entitlements to work in Australia. Must not be affected by sea sickness. Requirements The Role and Responsibilities We are currently looking for skilled and experienced professionals to join our team for an exciting campaign at the LNG facility located in Darwin. The scope includes the provision of services to supply a nitrogen membrane spread with a capacity of 10,000 scfm, including two liquid nitrogen equipment spreads and a 4,000 scfm nitrogen membrane spread . This work is starting from August until 31st of October. We have multiple swing dates on offer with day and night shift on offer. Following on from this we have other scopes both onshore and offshore. Requirements We are looking for experienced full time technicians who are experienced in the following: Installation Testing Fault analysis Assisting in electrical system design and maintenance and boiler controls are with PLC and electrical devices. You will be responsible for the following: Set up flushing and degreasing equipment, including pumps, filtration units, hoses, and boilers for heating. Perform function testing of pumps, flow meters and pressure gauges before initiating flushing activities. Operate boilers and circulation pumps to generate the required temperature and pressure for the flushing and degreasing process. ABOUT THE ROLE: Outback Spirit Tours is on the lookout for a skilled Mechanic to join our dedicated team at the stunning Seven Spirit Bay Lodge in Arnhem Land. This full-time, fixed-term contract position will run until the end of November, with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate. In this unique live-in position, you will receive accommodation and meals free of charge, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in one of Australia’s most breathtaking landscapes. You will be entrusted with the essential servicing and maintenance of our premium Outback Spirit service fleet, which includes vehicles, vessels, and various machinery. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring a pleasant and safe experience for all our guests, visitors, and team members. Key Responsibilities for the Lodge Mechanic Include: Collaborating with management to prioritise and coordinate repairs and maintenance, ensuring all fleet vehicles and vessels are operational for scheduled tours. Conducting preventive maintenance servicing and breakdown repairs for all fleet items and property maintenance equipment, minimising any disruptions to our guests. Performing regular maintenance on prime power generators to guarantee a reliable power supply for the lodge. Employing cost-effective and efficient maintenance methods while upholding high-quality standards. Maintaining a strong commitment to safety by adhering to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures, fostering a secure environment for yourself and your colleagues. ABOUT YOU: You will need to demonstrate proven mechanic experience, alongside strong attention to detail and effective troubleshooting abilities. Exceptional communication skills and strong customer service capabilities are also essential. The ideal candidate will possess: Mechanical experience with heavy vehicles (required). Mechanical experience with vessels (preferred). Mechanical experience with generators (preferred). Proficiency in repairing and troubleshooting both mechanical and auto electrical equipment. Proven expertise with marine vessels and land-based tour vehicles. A mechanical trade qualification covering both petrol and diesel engines. A valid Driver’s Licence (Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) preferred). A Forklift Licence. Previous experience in remote work environments. Strong communication and literacy skills, coupled with a diligent work ethic and meticulous attention to detail. A high level of computer proficiency, including analytical reporting skills.
