In summer a large west facing window will generate more heat in the afternoon while an east facing window will create heat in the winter • Windows are tinted or double glazed • Colour of the exterior walls and roof • What the house built with, and what insulation has been installed. • Any coverings such as verandas, trees or nearby buildings that will affect how hot or cold the interior of the room will get. • How many people will normally occupy the room, people generate heat • What the purpose of the room is, kitchens will naturally be hot when cooking food.
