In this course, you'll learn: Basic Japanese phrases for travel Essential communication skills for getting around Japanese customs and etiquette to help you blend in and show respect Lesson Overview: Day 1 Common expressions (e.g. "Hello", "Excuse me") Introducing yourself Shopping: 1, Asking for directions 2, Asking for prices 3, Acceptances/Refusals Day 2 Conversation in restaurants 1, Asking for a table 2, Ordering food 3, Asking for conveniences (e.g. bathroom) 4, Giving preferences (e.g. "no sesame") 5, Giving compliments/opinions Day 3 Catching public transport Describing destinations (e.g. to a taxi driver) Asking for the time/destination (e.g. station, bus terminal) Asking "Where is the nearest ___?" Period: Monday 15 December 2025 - Wednesday 7 January 2026 Time Slots: 10:00am-12:00pm, 12:30-2:30pm, 3:00-5:00pm, 5:30-7:30pm (negotiable) Duration: 2 hours per session, 3 days total A $30 administrative fee applies to all new enrolments and to returning students who have not attended classes in over 6 months.
