We pride ourselves on a hands-on, problem-solving culture that empowers our team to think critically, act decisively, and make a difference every day.  We’re seeking a highly motivated and reliable Lab Technician to join our dynamic engineering and product development team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in testing, improving, and supporting the development of our product range — both current and new. This role suits someone who is self-driven, quick to understand tasks, and highly efficient in executing work with attention to detail.  Key Responsibilities New Product Testing. Execute structured and repeatable testing processes for new product development, ensuring reliable, consistent, and accurate test outcomes that support engineering decisions.  Batch Testing. Perform batch tests on existing products to verify ongoing product consistency, compliance, and quality standards.  Competitor Analysis. Conduct competitive product testing to generate comparative performance data, identify product advantages or gaps, and inform strategic product development.  Mechanical & Installation Testing. Carry out mechanical and installation-based testing on products as required, including setup, failure testing, and real-world performance evaluation in our workshop or warehouse areas.  Equipment Calibration & Tracking. Perform routine calibration of laboratory equipment and maintain accurate calibration records to ensure equipment remains within required tolerances.  Fixture & Test Jig Setup. Develop and assemble appropriate test jigs, fixtures, and mounting setups for each product-under-test, requiring strong mechanical aptitude and careful attention to proper setup and alignment.  Equipment Improvements. Perform minor modifications and improvements to lab equipment and test rigs to enhance testing accuracy, efficiency, and safety.  Lab Maintenance. Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and functionality, ensuring all tools, fixtures, and equipment are in optimal working condition.  Requirements A diploma or degree in engineering, electronics, mechanical, or a related technical field is preferred.  Prior experience in a product testing or lab environment is highly desirable. Safety around high voltage equipment is our top priority.  Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to safely build and modify custom jigs and fixtures.  Comfortable using tools and assembly equipment to prepare test articles.  Ability to read and understand technical documentation, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.  Experience with data recording, reporting, and analysis, including Excel-based reporting.  Benefits At Voltex, we’re all about creating a supportive and exciting work environment.
