Our development pipeline has picked up pace with our flagship Dinawan Energy Hub project (wind, solar, BESS) having been awarded Access Rights and other key projects being actively pushed towards financial close.   To support that, we are growing our legal team and are now hiring a Legal Counsel to complement our existing team.  We’re looking for team members who are passionate about renewables, making a difference, and who align with our core values of integrity, authenticity and excellence. The Opportunities Reporting directly to our Chief Legal Officer, both roles will provide critical legal support across our portfolio, including our operational Bomen Solar Farm and our growing pipeline of solar, wind, and BESS projects across the National Electricity Market. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, drafting, reviewing, advising and negotiating across the spectrum of legal issues and contracts related to development (including land agreements, grid contracts and PPAs), financing, construction, and operations. These are hands-on roles that offer the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and external advisors and stakeholders in a fast-paced and purpose-driven environment. What we’re looking for: Legal Counsel (3-6 years PQE): The successful candidate will have experience in advising on legal issues and drafting and negotiating a range of agreements relevant to renewable energy projects (e.g. NDAs, land agreements, project approvals, consultancy agreements and procurement contracts). Experience in the energy industry and with energy specific contracts will be well regarded, particularly experience with construction contracts. This role will support governance and compliance activities in the team, and experience with these activities (e.g. NER, SOCI, FIRB) will be well regarded. This role will provide legal research support across a range of issues relevant to renewable energy projects. Experience with government contracts (especially LTESAs, CISAs or Access Rights agreements), will be well regarded. You thrive in a fast paced, agile environment without compromising attention to detail and the quality of your work.  Your communication skills, both verbal and written are strong. You are comfortable taking ownership of your deliverables and you work just as well in a team as you do autonomously, and you have a flexible approach to change.  You are collaborative by nature and are willing to tackle multiple tasks and to support larger or more complex matters as they present which may include extended and complex negotiations. Liaise with the legal team, acting as a key point of contact with lawyers on the Partner's team regarding client matters and firm operations. Support business development by assisting the Partner with events, client opportunities, and other initiatives. Manage time entries, ensuring the Partner's daily time is accurately recorded and entered into the practice management software. Assist with legal documentation, helping to collate briefs for barristers and prepare court and other necessary legal documents. Perform data entry, accurately inputting data into CRM and document management systems. Provide general support, offering comprehensive administrative and personal assistance to the Partner (e.g., dry cleaning, shopping, miscellaneous tasks). Your Experience Relevant experience in an Administrative/ similar support position, preferably in the legal industry or another professional services firm. Demonstrated experience in effectively managing complex schedules, triaging calls and emails, and coordinating appointments for senior professionals, ideally within a fast-paced environment. Strong preference for someone with legal exposure, supporting across the preparation and creation of legal documentation.  Prior experience with Business Administration, Business Development and Client Relationship Management.  What will set you apart?  The quality of your organisation skills as an experienced EA, with rigorous diary, time and email management.  Fantastic teamwork and collaboration skills, both as a part of the legal and administrative teams.  Ability to prioritise tasks, meet tight deadlines and assist the Partner of what is a busy law firm.  Intuition and the EQ to make good decisions and communicate effectively with all members of the firm.  Ability to keep strong ties to a fast-paced and sometimes challenging-to-access Partner.  Minimise stressful workload of Partner by providing efficient and preventative administrative support. This role demands a strong technical understanding of ASIC’s RG271 requirements for complaint handling, comprehensive experience interacting with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), and demonstrated expertise in ASIC complaint data capture and reporting. You will ensure that all complaints are handled with diligence, fairness, and regulatory compliance, directly contributing to Moomoo AU’s reputation for customer advocacy and operational excellence. Provide high-quality written responses to complainants, clearly summarising issues, findings, outcomes, and options for further escalation. Escalate unresolved or complex complaints to appropriate internal teams or to AFCA, as appropriate. Maintain meticulous records of all complaints, correspondence, actions, and outcomes within the complaint management system.   RG271 Compliance Ensure strict adherence to ASIC’s Regulatory Guide 271 (RG271), especially regarding complaint timeframes, customer communication, and record-keeping requirements. Review and update internal complaints procedures and training material to reflect any changes in RG271 or related regulations. Support internal audits and reviews of compliance with IDR and RG271.   AFCA Process Management Act as Moomoo AU’s key liaison with AFCA, preparing detailed, accurate, and timely responses to AFCA investigations and queries. Manage AFCA escalations, including gathering evidence, preparing submissions, and coordinating internal input as needed. Monitor and analyse AFCA determinations for trends and potential improvements to internal processes.   ASIC Complaint Data Reporting Oversee accurate collection, maintenance, and analysis of complaint data in line with ASIC’s reporting requirements. Prepare, validate, and submit regular complaints data reports to ASIC, ensuring integrity and confidentiality of information. Identify, monitor, and report on complaint trends, root causes, and systemic issues for management and regulatory stakeholders. Requirements Minimum 2 years’ experience in complaints handling, risk & compliance, or similar role (preferably in financial services or fintech). Understanding of ASIC RG271, the Australian complaints landscape, and AFCA schemes. Strong verbal and written communication skills—able to explain complex issues clearly, professionally, and with empathy. Proven expertise in managing AFCA escalations/processes, including drafting submissions and coordinating evidence. Practical experience with ASIC complaint data reporting, including data accuracy, process compliance, and trend analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve sensitive matters in a fast-paced, digital-first environment.
