We seek an experienced and dynamic Employee Relations Advisor to join our team in Sydney. This pivotal role requires a seasoned employee relations professional a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders across different regions. Experience in working within a multinational or cross-regional environment is highly preferred. The successful candidate will play a critical role in aligning business objectives with people strategies, ensuring workforce growth and development while fostering a positive, high-performance culture in a global context. Key Responsibilities: Support business leaders across regions in implementing people strategies that align with both global and local business objectives. Act as an HR advisor, providing guidance on Employee Relations (ER), performance management, and workplace policies, with a strong understanding of APAC labour laws and HR practices. Assist in driving organizational change initiatives that enhance employee engagement and business performance. Proactively assess and address day-to-day ER issues, ensuring compliance with APAC and international employment regulations. Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on ER matters, including conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary actions. Help oversee performance management processes, ensuring managers have the right tools and guidance to support employee development. Handle sensitive ER cases, such as workplace investigations and policy violations, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Work closely with managers to implement performance improvement plans in alignment with company policies and regional employment laws. Analyze ER trends and data to identify potential risks and recommend solutions to improve workplace culture and compliance. Ensure HR policies and practices are aligned with local and international labour laws, providing recommendations for updates when necessary. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in HR, with a strong focus on Employee Relations business partnering, employee relations, and talent management, preferably within a multinational or cross-regional environment. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing and driving business outcomes across regions. Excellent knowledge of Australian/China/Malaysia labour laws, with an understanding of international Employee Relations best practices. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across cultures. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities across regions. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights for a global workforce. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Mandarin communication skill would be highly preferred. Preferred: Experience working in a multinational company or managing Employee Relations in a cross-region context is highly desirable.
