Australian Transmission Components is the leading supplier of Manual Transmission Components and Reman Units to the Automotive Specialists Australia Wide. We are looking for a Senior Machinist for our engineering / machining operation. This is a hands on role where you will create high quality parts, upgrade existing components and make custom tooling to service our Transmission Re-manufacturing Facility on manual or CNC Machinery. Machinist Responsibilities include; Carry out machining operations Plan each job for maximum quality & efficiency Make components to drawing tolerances Communicate openly with Senior Machinist or Workshop Manager about tasks and any concerns. Follow safe and correct procedures at all times Small runs of jobbing work Program and Operate CNC Machinery CAD Drawing Opportunities to further develop any CNC or CAM skills you may have Teaching an Apprentice To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following; Trade Certificate or relevant training if 3rd/4th Year Apprentice High attention to detail and quality Capability to make precision components on manual machines. An ability to measure close tolerances, Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings Strong mathematical skills Strong problem solving skills General housekeeping skills Attention to WH&S at all times Our workshop is a clean, spacious and air conditioned. The successful applicant will be working with and making small runs of high quality motorsport and automotive components in a friendly and comfortable environment.
