Staff Specialist – Cardiologist Electrophysiology & General Cardiology | Public Health Service | Tasmania Permanent Full-Time | $216,300 – $296,640 + Incentives & Allowances We are recruiting for a leading tertiary hospital in southern Tasmania that is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist – Cardiologist with expertise in electrophysiology to join their well-established Cardiology Department. This position offers an excellent mix of clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities in one of Australia’s most scenic and lifestyle-friendly regions. The Role: As a Consultant Cardiologist, you will contribute to the general clinical workload of the department and play a key leadership role in the delivery of electrophysiology services. You will work within a highly integrated team that includes a Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Catheter Lab, and Non-Invasive Testing Unit. Services also extend statewide and include telehealth where appropriate. Your responsibilities will include: Providing inpatient and outpatient cardiology services with a focus on heart rhythm disorders Leading weekly case discussions for complex device implantation and ablation Supporting nurse-led clinics in electrophysiology and rhythm management Participating in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education Contributing to quality improvement, clinical governance, and ongoing service development Actively participating in research and maintaining a strong academic presence Key Requirements: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology Sub-specialisation in electrophysiology and cardiac devices strongly preferred Current or eligible Specialist Registration with AHPRA Demonstrated clinical leadership in tertiary or large regional hospital settings Commitment to evidence-based care, teaching, and continuous improvement Remuneration & Benefits: Base Salary: $216,300 – $296,640 per annum (dependent on experience and seniority) Access to senior specialist rates (up to $310,389) if eligible Allowances: CPD Allowance: $16,974 p.a.
