Their systems support critical national infrastructure, and they’re looking for a Backup & Recovery Engineer to take ownership of enterprise-grade backup services across a sprawling, high-availability environment. You’ll be hands-on, leading the configuration, optimisation, and day-to-day operations of backup and recovery services. You’ll design and refine policies, test DR readiness, troubleshoot incidents, and work closely with infrastructure and storage teams to keep systems resilient and recoverable. Expect to: Own the configuration, scheduling, and performance of backup tools Lead DR plan development and test recovery procedures Optimise storage use with deduplication, compression, and other best practices Act as the escalation point for complex incidents Manage vendor relationships and ensure licensing compliance Provide clear documentation for audit and compliance needs Collaborate across teams to ensure integrated data protection Requirements Who we’re looking for You’re a hands-on engineer with real-world experience managing backup at scale. You’ve been in the trenches—automating tasks, solving restore failures, and planning for the worst. You thrive in secure environments and know what ‘enterprise-grade’ really means.
