Are you a passionate and results driven Business Development Manager with experience in interstate transport, logistics and rail freight? Niche Logistics is seeking an exceptional BDM to lead NEW Business growth initiatives in our East – West coast intermodal business. Specialising in bulk rail freight between Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, Niche has built a strong reputation for delivering tailored, reliable and cost effective logistics solutions across Australia. About the Role: Based in Sydney, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and developing strong, long lasting relationships with customers across the NSW and southern QLD region. Your ability to turn conversations into commercial results will be essential in meeting growing demand for our interstate freight services. You’ll act as a key conduit between our operations and the customer, ensuring jobs run smoothly and client needs are consistently met. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring proven experience in transport and logistics sales, a strong network within the industry, and the drive to hunt new business, pursue leads, close deals, and build sustainable client partnerships. You'll also need strong market awareness, confidence in managing multiple accounts, and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience in intermodal or rail freight is preferred.  You’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our intermodal rail freight services and driving new business along the vital East - West corridor. Key Responsibilities: Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities in the interstate freight sector. Develop tailored solutions aligned with client supply chain needs and Niche’s capabilities. Build and nurture long term relationships with new and potential customers. Conduct regular site visits and maintain strong visibility in key markets. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction. Keep abreast of market trends in intermodal and rail freight transport. Key Requirements: Proven success in a Business Development Manager role in transport, logistics, or rail freight. Demonstrated ability to convert leads into sustainable revenue. Not afraid to pick up the phone and hunt new business Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Business acumen with a hands-on, solutions-driven mindset. Competent with technology and the ability to use CRM and freight management systems.
