About the role Reporting to Maintenance Manager Operations, the Shore Based Engineer assists in the mechanical & electrical maintenance of vessels, pontoon, vehicles, tenders, outboards, air-conditioning, refrigeration, lighting, davits and lifting systems. Follow scheduled maintenance programs, completing servicing as outlined and recording details for administration purposes. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Diagnose system problems if, and when they occur Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign off Adherence with SOPS, Marine Memos, operation procedures and WHS requirements Following the scheduled maintenance program for all mechanical, electrical, air control, safety equipment on a regular basis on the vessels, tenders, pontoon, etc. Maintenance of main and auxiliary engines, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic cylinders (rams), water pumps, electric generators, lights, navigation system, ventilation systems, under water running gear and any other mechanical, hydraulic, electrical gear on board Maintenance of emergency generations, emergency steering and firefighting systems to ensure compliance in line with legislation. Fault finding and additional repairs. About you The successful candidate will be highly skilled and experienced with a strong marine diesel engine industry background. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with working outdoors in various weather conditions. You will have strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
